Buongiorno and welcome to Antica Ruga! I am the owner, Mary Bianchetti.  My parents were born in Italy, where my family still lives in the Marche. I live in California but frequently go to Italy. My passions are culinary, music and all things Italian, which I speak. I  studied at the Italian immersive school, Il Sasso, in Montepulciano, and fell in love with the town and the people, called Poliziani. I was captured by the town with its friendly people, art, culture, food and of course, the wonderful Vino Nobile di Montepulciano wine cantinas built into Etruscan tombs. We bought the Antica Ruga house, in Montepulciano to enjoy the Italian “La Dolce Vita” which we hope you experience to the fullest during your visit.

I enjoy helping my guests discover the hidden small gems  in Montepulciano, how to get to know and live like the local  ‘Poliziani”, going to the local mercato on Thursday, eating authentic Tuscan food, exploring Etruscan tombs Cantinas, tasting the famous Vino Nobile. I was a chef, have a culinary degree, so  what I recommend in our guidebook meet high standards of a demanding chef with Italian parents.
