How to Get Here
The Antica Ruga House is located in the medieval quarter of Centro Storico, Montepulciano, at Via Ruga di Fuori no.17, which is in a Zona Traffico Limitato (ZTL), a zone closed to traffic except by permit. Local police and cameras enforce the ZTL signs and parking restrictions. If you see a ZTL sign do not drive into that street or area. If arriving by car, park in spots outside wall listed below. Please note you cannot drive into ZTL zone to drop off luggage at apartment.
Our local property manager will meet you at your drop off point or parking lot nearby and help you with luggage to Antica Ruga just 2-5 minutes walk away. We will communicate in advance via What’s App how best to meet us depending on your method of arrival.
You can reach Antica Ruga via different methods;
1. drive your car to one of the Montepulciano parking lots
2. taxi or local bus from train station, Chiusi Chianciano Terme, to a Montepulciano drop off point, listed below*
3. private taxi transfer from Rome or Florence airports to Montepulciano drop off point or directly to apartment if taxi has ZTL access.

The nearest airports are:
Florence 110km (1 hour 30 minutes)
Rome 190km (2 hours)
Then options to get to Montepulciano are below:
1) If fly into Rome, take Trenitalia Train from Fiumicino Aeroporto to Roma Termini then take train to Chiusi Chianciano Terme then bus or taxi to Montepulciano (cost of taxi to Montepulciano is € 30 -€ 50) (train time = 1 hour 45 min to 2 hours, 14 minutes, depending which train you take, then 30 minutes taxi to Montepulciano )
2) If fly into Florence, drive to Montepulciano
3) Private taxi from Rome airport to Montepulciano (approximate cost of private taxi from Rome airport to Montepulciano is € 300)

Buses
The main bus companies are Tiemme and Siena Mobilità, The little orange bus (FT 1) takes you around within Montepulciano historic center and to the autostazione where you can get buses to Siena, Pienza, etc, From the bus station, you can walk into the historic center or take the little orange bus. The autostazione is next door to the market on Thursdays so good idea to shop then take F1 bus back up . Download Tiemme app.. Note that buses may not run on Sundays. Buy bus tickets before e you get in bus at Tabaccherie (1.5 EU)
